About the OXCEP

As one of the oldest colleges in the University of Oxford, St Edmund Hall aimed to further its various China development projects. The Oxford Chinese Economy Programme (OXCEP) was a task force established at St Edmund Hall in May 2013 to spearhead and implement such projects, including the related forums and symposiums, distinguished speaker lectures, short courses, visiting fellowships and visiting studentships at the Hall.

Professor John Knight, Emeritus Professor of the University and Emeritus Fellow of St Edmund Hall, took primary responsibility for the academic contents of the OXCEP events and activities between May 2013 and January 2024, and Senior Tutor of the Hall Professor Robert Wilkins took on the Academic Directorship of the OXCEP in February 2024. Ms. Helen Xiaowei Chen has been the OXCEP Administrative Director since its inception.

Over the past decade, the OXCEP has expanded and evolved into a novel international educational platform at Oxford for senior academics and professionals from around the globe, as well as a powerhouse of knowledge and inspiration facilitating net zero economic development, new energy, and translational medicine in various countries of the world.
